VV-PACS Community Correspondent Gyanti Kumari from Siwan district, Bihar reports on the often unseen and mostly unreported untouchability practiced during the Chhath Puja in Bihar. 'Chhath' in Bihar is celebrated with a lot of fervor & excitement. But the age old practice of untouchability plays a spoiler for many. "We do our prayers on a separate ghat because they are from upper caste and we are from lower caste" says a young boy. About the Partnership: The Poorest Areas Civil Society (PACS) Programme and Video Volunteers have come together to create the Community Correspondents Network. The videos generated by the network will be able to highlight voices from the margins, providing skills to social communicators to provide advocacy tools to community based organizations.
