Marital Rape During COVID Pandemic

Cases of domestic violence have shot up exponentially during the lockdown enforced in India to curb COVID-19 infections.

The problem is so huge that the World Health Organisation has termed the rising cases of domestic violence as a ‘silent pandemic’ in making.

Video Volunteers community correspondent interviewed a woman from Madhya Pradesh who, during the pandemic, is facing sexual violence from her husband.

She alleges that her husband would force himself upon her against her will, and upon protest would beat her up and use abusive language, sometimes in front of her grown children.

Video Volunteers has published many videos in the past exposing the rising cases of domestic violence in the country during the pandemic and will continue to do so in the future
