Our Community Correspondent Nitu Chakhia reports from a Community Health Centre (CHC) in Odisha's capital city, Bhubaneshwar where staff shortage is wreaking havoc with the overworked staff present there. As of now, the total number of nurses present at the CHC is three, whereas the requirement is of at least nine. On usual days it is manageable. However, whenever there are more people who come for COVID-19 tests and other ailments, it becomes difficult for them to manage everyone. The staff have complained to the Chief Medical Officer. But it hasn't resulted in any action on the ground.
