It appears that a positive transformation is dawning upon Kondagaon. There, Pradan (Professional Assistance for Development Action) and a few other local organisations have joined hands and are teaching the youths of 40 panchayats about organic farming. It is an intensive 5 days program, with lessons ranging from mulching to composting to obtain scientific temperament.

One of the ideas of this training program is to dignify traditional agriculture and include womenfolk in decision making. ‘Training of trainers’ in NGO parlance, these participants, with their traditional knowledge, are getting honed with superior scientific knowledge - so that they can teach others in their villages, for better agricultural yield. 

In the training, the womenfolk are encouraged to take part in what was traditionally a male bastion of decision making in agricultural practices. Augmenting income and honour with a scientific farming method is the call of the day, world over. Please do share this positive video about induced transformation in agricultural practices.
