IMPACT: Proper Electricity Infrastructure Installed in This Shopian Village

It took 4 years of constant follow up of Community Correspondent (CC) Basharat Amin with the Electricity Department to install the high-tension electric wires from makeshift poles to proper ones in Manloo area of Shopian District, Kashmir. The inhabitants of Khan Mohalla of Manloo were in constant fear and trepidation because of the loose hanging high-tension wires that they precariously managed to put up in tree branches.

The community demanded safe and secure electrical connections, it was a threat to all of them, animals included. The CC Basharat Amin took up this challenge along with the villagers and met the officials of the Electricity department with their legitimate demand. Though the Electricity Department was aware of this dangerous situation, things were moving slowly.

After 4 years of constant follow-up, under the PRI 2021-22 project, the electric poles were installed in the area. The people of Khan Mohalla are thankful to Basharat Amin, the community correspondent for his assistance and constant follow up to resolve the issue. Please share this video to celebrate this positive result of community action.
