Video Editor (Odiya Speaking)

About us: Video Volunteers (VV) is a media and people’s rights non-profit that is growing and changing the media and social change space in India. We are an international community media organisation that equips women and men in underdeveloped areas with video journalism skills, enabling entire communities to expose underreported stories from their communities and take action to right the wrongs of poverty, injustice and inequality. In our main programme, 212 Community Correspondents from marginalised communities produce video stories on people’s people’s rights issues, to show to local officials of the area and to the rest of the world via the Internet.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary role of the video editors at VV is to edit videos produced by the network of Community Correspondents.

Key Responsibilities

Edit videos shot by the community correspondents

Maintain the archive of footage shot by community producers

Repackage videos for mainstream media and other clients

Create ‘special’ videos that showcase the work of Video Volunteers to other organisations

Train community correspondents  in video editing

Technical mentoring to community correspondents  on aspects of production quality

Provide feedback to CCs and the VV head office on what is being covered in the news locally and should be covered by CCs

Qualifications/work experience

At least two years of work experience as a video editor (must send video links of your work)

Well versed with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere

Well versed with After Effects, Photoshop and audio correction software

Speaks Odiya, Hindi and English

Willing to relocate   to Goa
