Mohan Lal Seelu

Born on 2 March 1975, He comes from a tribal community, which is being harnessed by the MNREGA issue. He works with Adivasi Sanrachna Sewa Sansthan which works on advocating and mobilising tribals. His people have employment issues and his community is gradually losing its cultural heritance as well. Mohan does labour work to make livelihood. He works with Adivasi Sanrachna Sewa Sansthan to mobilize his community and support his family. He tells his people about laws and spreads awareness pertaining their rights. He specializes on MNREGA, FRA and other government schemes that entitle non-discriminatory sources of livelihood for all. He is dedicated to bring the entitlements to his community. He belongs the Ajaja tribe scattered in Betul district of MP. He can speak four languages including Hindi, Bengali, Gondi and Kurku. He has four members in his family which has a mere aggregate income of 750Rs per person per month. This figure is almost common for other people in his community. Industrialization, foreign markets, deforestation, mining and eviction has left his tribe with no traditional source of livelihood hence losing their cultural inheritance as well. They migrate to the cities in search for sustainance but are exploited in the process. Their daily wage labour income is mere 100Rs which is the only option left for them. Mohan feels that the viewpoint is not wrong but their voices are missing from the mainstream media. With help of the community correspondent training he envisions to bring forth these voices up front and tackle their issues on a wider platform. He hopes to achieve his goal of extracting their rightful entitlement to livelihood and bring the harmony back to his community.
